Dignity of Risk short film event: March 7th, 2019
7 February, 2019
We kindly invite you to join us for refreshments before sitting down to enjoy the 15-minute documentary Dignity of Risk. This will be followed by an inspiring and insightful presentation from Professor Joe Ibrahim with a question and answer session to conclude the complimentary event.
‘Dignity of risk’ refers to the idea that the right to take reasonable risks are essential for dignity and self-esteem.
The 15-minute short-film documentary features an encounter between Professor Joe Ibrahim and a patient, Mr Jones, who has recently been diagnosed with dementia. The film raises the question relating to either protecting Mr Jones from harm or intruding on his choices to enjoy his life.
The film has won several renowned international awards, including “Best Narrative Film Category” at the 2017 Global Impact Film Festival (GIDC).
