An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our forward thinking, progressive Aged Care organisation in our Residential Team.

Based in Launceston, the primary purpose of the Admissions Manager role is to ensure that all business objectives and budget targets in relation to occupancy, RAD/DAP, ACFI, concessional and respite targets are met and exceeded.

 

This role will be required to work collaboratively across all business units, with the facility managers and other key stakeholders across the organisation and provide support to the facility managers and Executives.

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director Residential, the Admissions Manager will:

  • Source and facilitate successful resident admissions.
  • Manage wait lists and relationships with clients whilst on the waiting list.
  • Ensure all resident agreements are completed, posted and signed pre-admission.
  • Upon admission, ensure a smooth and effective hand-over to facility staff.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative updates within the Aged Care Sector.
  • Co-ordinator for appointments, tours and information flow.
  • In liaison with facility managers, monitor and maximise the occupancy levels of all facilities, ensuring concessional residents ratio, respite, permanent occupancy level requirements, and financial objectives are met at all times

To be successful in this position you must possess:

  • The ability to provide an exceptional service experience and the ability to convert sales opportunities through building rapport with customers from the initial contact
  • Strong interpersonal skills evident through communication style, in particular written, and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding and ability to calculate financial arrangements associated with residents
  • Drive, initiative and the ability to positively change requirements and situations
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain records and confidentiality
  • The ability to foster teamwork and effective work as a team member
  • Qualifications and experience in roles such as a Registered Nurse, a Social worker experienced in ACAT assessments, or similar, will be highly regarded.
  • A strong understanding of the Department of Health and Aged Care, Residential Aged Care Guidelines, in respect of service delivery and financial arrangements.
  • A current driver’s licence

Our Community Services Division currently has casual Community Support Worker positions available in the North, Meander Valley and Devonport areas for clients in a variety of environments, such as client’s homes and in the wider community.

 

As a Community Support Worker you will assist clients by attending to their personal care and social needs, ensuring they maintain a comfortable and homelike environment in which to live with privacy and dignity.

Day Therapy Assistant

Based in Launceston, working approx. 30 hours per week, the primary purpose of the Day Therapy Assistant role is to interact with and deliver activities for our day therapy clients and to provide support in the implementation of our program, which is aimed at improving our Clients quality of life through preserving their social skills and optimum level of physical and social activity.

 

Reporting directly to the Day Therapy Coordinator, in the role you will:

  • Provide support to other members of staff as necessary and in a team environment, and in consultation and direction from the Day Therapy Co-ordinator
  • Encourage and motivate clients/residents, and their participation in social and physical activities within the limitations of their abilities
  • Participate in team meetings and support the function of the Day Therapy Coordinator; and
  • Maintain specific reporting requirements and document information relevant to client’s ongoing care as required

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • have completed or are interested working towards Certificate of Diversional Therapy / Leisure and Lifestyle Certificate IV or equivalent together with demonstrated experience, particularly in aged care
  • be competent in using a range of programs designed to promote client independence and maintain/extend their personal interests, social contacts and general mobility
  • possess effective interpersonal and communication skills and sound written and verbal skills
  • have the ability to display empathy and advocacy as appropriate
  • display initiative and have an ability and willingness to learn
  • previous experience in Aged Care advantageous

The Day Therapy Coordinator is responsible for the planning, overall implementation and evaluation of social and activity programs aimed at improving the Clients quality of life through preserving their social skills and optimum level of physical and social activity. The Day Therapy coordinator is also required to coordinate and assist volunteers in their role of supporting the Day Therapy team and clients to work within the philosophy of Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT) sites to achieve the highest possible standard of care for their clients.

 

Based in Launceston and reporting directly to the Program Manager Community, in the role you will:

  • Be competent in developing and managing a range of programs designed to promote client independence and maintain/extend their personal interests, social contacts and general mobility
  • Have excellent knowledge of wellness deficits which impede client capacity to function independently, and an ability to design and implement programs which promote wellness
  • Manage and supervise the operational aspects of the Day Therapy team, including all elements of staff management
  • Actively engage the wider community and contribute to the growth of Masonic Care Tasmania’s Community Services function

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • High level of knowledge and co-ordination experience in a Day Therapy Centre environment
  • Proven experience in staff management and ability to act as a role model and provide support and guidance to other staff members to achieve required outcomes
  • Knowledge of wellness deficits which impede client capacity to function independently, and an ability to design and implement programs which promote wellness
  • Either completion, or progress towards, Certificate IV or Diploma of Diversional Therapy / Leisure and Lifestyle (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound written and verbal skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and in particular current Aged Care Legislation
  • Previous experience in Aged Care advantageous

Team Leader – Catering

A fabulous opportunity has arisen to join a forward thinking, progressive Aged Care organisation in a rapidly growing industry.

Based in Launceston and reporting directly to the Residential Manager, the Catering Team Leader will be responsible for the local supervision of catering operations and for the provision of quality service. This position will:

 

  • Implement and evaluate the catering services program for the organisation
  • Demonstrate effective management of human, material and financial resources
  • Implement and maintain documented systems for quality control
  • Prepare rosters which allow for appropriate co-workers levels which, safely and efficiently, deliver catering services, including out of normal business hours.
  • Implement cleaning methods and programs which ensure the principles of infection control and safe practice are followed, and
  • Ensure all international and national relevant standards are implemented and followed, and all legislation requirements are fulfilled, including catering safety standards.

If you have appropriate industry qualifications, basic knowledge of management principles and their application and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in management of hospitality services this position is for you! Previous Aged Care experience is desirable but not essential.

You will be required to have a Satisfactory Police check and current Drivers Licence to be considered for this position.
