Day Therapy Assistant

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our forward thinking, progressive aged care organisation in our Community Services team.

Based in Launceston, the primary purpose of the Day Therapy Assistant role is to interact with and deliver activities for our day therapy clients and to provide support in the implementation of our program, which is aimed at improving our clients quality of life through preserving their social skills and optimum level of physical and social activity.

 

Reporting directly to the Day Therapy Coordinator, you will:

  • Provide support to other members of staff as necessary and in a team environment, and in consultation and direction from the Day Therapy Coordinator;
  • Encourage and motivate clients/residents, and their participation in social and physical activities within the limitations of their abilities;
  • Participate in team meetings and support the function of the Day Therapy Coordinator; and
  • Maintain specific reporting requirements and document information relevant to client’s ongoing care as required.

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Have completed or are interested working towards Certificate of Diversional Therapy / Leisure and Lifestyle Certificate IV or equivalent together with demonstrated experience, particularly in aged care;
  • Be competent in using a range of programs designed to promote client independence and maintain/extend their personal interests, social contacts and general mobility;
  • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills and sound written and verbal skills;
  • Have the ability to display empathy and advocacy as appropriate;
  • Display initiative and have an ability and willingness to learn; and
  • Previous experience in aged care advantageous.

Marketing & Communications Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward thinking, progressive Aged Care organisation in a rapidly growing industry.  Based in either Hobart or Launceston the Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for providing broad marketing, communications and design support for Masonic Care Tasmania to support the successful delivery of the organisation’s strategic goals.

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Marketing, you will require:

  • Proven ability to work under pressure to achieve strict deadlines with quality output;
  • Experience and proven effectiveness in utilising social media and other digital platforms; and
  • Qualifications in Marketing or Communications or relevant industry experience.

 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • A flair for design and preparation of various marketing collateral;
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superb attention to detail;
  • Excellent writing and editing capabilities; and
  • Experience in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe InDesign, Microsoft SharePoint, WordPress and Mailchimp (desirable).

Rostering Officer
Location: Hobart

Based on Hobart’s Eastern Shore, this is an exciting opportunity for a progressive professional to embark on a critical role with our market leading organisation.

Reporting to the Team Leader Payroll & Rostering, and part of the People & Culture team, the Rostering Officer is responsible for ensuring the appropriate allocation of suitably skill staff at all times in our facilities.

 

In the role you will:

  • Ensure the appropriate allocation of staff at all times at our facilities;
  • Ensure all shifts are filled in a timely manner;
  • Administrator and be the primary point of contact for rostering system and process queries, and ensure all appropriate staff are trained and educated in rostering systems and processes;
  • Provide support and direction to staff regarding commencement time and other shift information;
  • Monitor and report on potential requirements for staffing changes and resourcing;
  • Liaise with third party clinical resourcing providers for contingency of personnel; and
  • Assist with training and recruitment.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills evident through your communication style, in particular your strong verbal communication;
  • An ability to complete allocated duties in a timely, accurate and efficient manner, as well as excellent prioritisation and judgment practices;
  • Sound computer skills including the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office and other specialist software;
  • The ability to handle personal information in a confidential and professional manner;
  • The ability to work co-operatively and develop effective relationships across all levels of the organisation;
  • Satisfactory Police check and current Drivers Licence; and
  • Knowledge of the aged care industry and previous rostering experience (or exposure to a shift work environment) would be well regarded.
