ACSA Visits Freemasons Home
19 February, 2020

Recently, our CEO, Jackie Howard, invited the Aged & Community Services Australia CEO Pat Sparrow and Executive Director of Government and Public Affairs Annette Glenister to come and spend time at Masonic Care Tasmania.

Jackie and members of the Executive team and the Facility Manager talked to Pat about the opportunities and challenges in providing aged care services in Tasmania. Lucy O’Flaherty, CEO Glenview Community Services, and Barry Lange, CEO Huon Regional Care, also joined the tour of the facility.

Jackie had the pleasure of showing them around Freemasons Home in Lindisfarne, where they got to spend time, laugh and have a little dance with residents before enjoying lunch at ACSA Tasmania’s office in Hobart. Jackie said, “it was a great opportunity to showcase the wonderful work that our team do at MCT, and have some fun with our residents.”

It was a really worthwhile day to discuss the Quality and Safety Commission, the Royal Commission into Aged Care and areas we can work on with ACSA and other providers to improve our industry. Pat enjoyed spending time out with providers and some of our older people and said “ it was a great day, these visits ground and inspire”.
