CEO update to our community clients
1 April, 2020

Dear valued Community Clients of Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT),

As you know, the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, clients and staff is always our priority. We are actively monitoring information provided by the Australian Government Department of Health in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health alert, and are taking active measures to prevent the spread of the virus in our community.

MCT is well accustomed to implementing infectious disease protocols and it is important we continue to follow these protocols now more than ever. Our professional staff will continue to work with you to provide you with the care and support you need, while ensuring every precaution is taken, in line with Government recommendations.
During this challenging time for our community, we are asking for your support to help prevent the spread of the virus. Please keep us updated should your personal circumstances change.

To assist with government requirements on social distancing, all clients will now need to be transported in the back seat of vehicles while attending those necessary appointments. Community Services continue to provide assistance with grocery shopping, medical appointments and trips to the pharmacist. We have suspended all group activities for clients and social outings in line with the Government social distancing and group gathering restrictions.

If you have a shopping service with us, we do request that you complete a financial reconciliation form to enable the support worker to go to the shops on your behalf.

Keep informed
Keeping people connected is a priority for us and we are always exploring new ways for our community to stay in touch. We are aware that some telephone and internet providers, such as Telstra and Optus, are providing additional benefits and extra data to existing clients. Contact your local provider for more information about these extra data offers.

For the latest advice and information from the Australian Government, go to www.health.gov.au. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please remember, if you are impacted by the virus, we are here to help. If you require any additional assistance at this time, please let us know so that we can ensure you have all the support you need.
