CEO update to our Community Clients
29 April, 2020

Dear valued Community Clients and Families of Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT),

I wanted to take this opportunity to check in with you and to thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we all take active measures to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our community against COVID-19.

I am aware that there may be concerns in the community about the provision of in-home care services at this time. I have attached a copy of the Australian Government’s latest COVID-19 information sheet: It’s OK to have home care, for your information.

Please be assured that MCT workers are taking all necessary measures to ensure you stay safe. This includes following advice from Australia’s Chief Medical Officer about when to use protective equipment. Most of the time your aged care worker does not have to wear personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, aprons or gowns, and protective eyewear.

All MCT workers have been trained in infection control procedures and will be washing their hands on entry to your home and prior to leaving.

Any MCT worker displaying respiratory symptoms is not allowed to work – and just to be sure, workers with symptoms are being tested for COVID-19. Our aged care workers are following the best medical advice to protect you and themselves from COVID-19.

Please remember, we are here for you and if you are impacted by the virus or have any other questions or concerns, we will do what we can to help. If you require any additional assistance at this time, please let our team know so that we can ensure you have all the support you need.

And please, keep us updated should your personal circumstances change, or should you have any questions or concerns at all. You are not alone, we are all in this together, and myself and all at MCT are here to help. Please do not hesitate to contact the team – Jordan, Angie, Judy, Jill, Sarah, Janine and Lindy can be contacted on (03) 6345 7270.

Kind regards,

Jackie Howard
