CEO update to our valued community
1 April, 2020

Dear valued Residents and Visitors of Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT),

As you know, the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, clients and staff is always our priority. We are actively monitoring information provided by the Australian Government Department of Health in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health alert, and are taking active measures to reduce exposure to the virus and its potential impact on our organisation.

We have already taken steps to limit visitors to our residential aged care facilities to essential visitors and contractors for a minimum two-week period, effective from 21 March 2020. We will continue to monitor updates from the health authorities and will follow Government recommendations pertaining to any additional steps required to prevent the spread of the virus in our community, which may include extending these arrangements.

Stay in touch
Keeping people connected is a priority for us and we are always exploring new ways for our community to stay in touch. Residents are able to stay connected with their family, friends and support networks with phone calls, skype, messenger and FaceTime and we are enabling GP visits via video conference.

We have dedicated staff available to assist with keeping our Residents and their families connected. Please contact the facility directly to let us know your preferred method of contact and to organise a time to catch up with your loved one.

Keep informed
For the latest advice and information from the Australian Government, go to www.health.gov.au. You can also download the ‘“Coronavirus Australia” government app in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

We will continue to keep you informed as things progress. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our team if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Jackie Howard
Chief Executive Officer
