Letter to Residents, Families, clients & Advocates
22 July, 2020

Dear valued Residents, Families, clients and Advocates,

I want to thank you once again for your patience and understanding as we all continue to work together to protect our community from COVID-19.

As you are aware we have kept our screening and monitoring processes in place when visiting our facilities as well as maintaining other COVID safe measures – including physical distancing, hand hygiene and ensuring we stay at home if unwell – across our community services and independent living villages. I know this has been frustrating for some of you but we must do everything we can to continue to keep everyone as safe as possible.

The current situation in Victoria and NSW is of great concern to all of us and we are continually learning lessons from other jurisdictions and reviewing our processes where necessary. We also continue to follow advice from the Tasmanian Government regarding how we continue to work together to find our rhythm, and support you all in our new working environment.

With the easing of visitor restrictions within our residential sites, we would like to remind visitors to remain in the resident’s rooms during their visits and to press the call bell for any assistance with drinks etc. It is critically important now more than ever that we continue to be vigilant with our COVID safe practices and not become complacent.

We continue to use technology to keep families connected and for tele health appointments. If you wish to contact your loved one via Skype, FaceTime etc., please contact your Facility Manager or Community Coordinator.

We would like to celebrate our wonderful team and the hard work they continue to do keeping our residents and clients safe and supported during this challenging time. If you would like to join us in acknowledging our amazing Masonic Care team, please feel free to send an email message to sally.glover@mctas.org.au or drop us a line to Att: Sally Glover, 7 Ballawinnie Road, Lindisfarne TAS 7015. We will collate all your messages and ensure our staff receive your wonderful messages of support and thanks.

As we all know we are not out of the woods with COVID-19 yet. We will be watching very carefully if any circumstances change in Tasmania and we will do our very best to keep you informed.
In the meantime, if there is anything more we can do to support you and your loved one, please reach out to one of our team members or myself.

Look after yourself and stay safe.

Yours sincerely,
Jackie Howard
