Update on COVID-19 outbreak (Fred French)
13 April, 2022

 Dear Residents, Families and Advocates

Update on COVID-19 outbreak – Fred French

I am writing to provide an update following the PCR testing sweep conducted on Monday. We have now received the results of this sweep and unfortunately we have 1 new resident who has tested positive bringing our total number of active cases to 6. The resident and their family have been informed and are receiving our ongoing support. If our team has not contacted you, rest assured that the impacted resident is not your loved one.

Currently, and in response to the active cases in the home, St John and Punchbowl are under isolation restrictions with residents being strongly encouraged to stay in their rooms. All other residents are able to access communal areas including courtyards and outdoor spaces.

A further round of PCR testing will be conducted this coming Friday, 15 April 2022 and we will continue to work with Public Health and the Aged Care Emergency Operations Centre on our response measures.

Whilst we continue to navigate the current outbreak, at this time we will be continuing to welcome each resident’s nominated visitor only for visits in the Home. If you are a nominated visitor and you feel unwell in anyway, please do not attend the Home. Pleasingly, residents in Flowers and Wentworth are now also able to participate in outings with strong encouragement that they wear a mask whilst outside of the home and practice good hand hygiene.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter break and to thank you for your ongoing support of our staff and in ensuring we keep everyone safe.

Yours sincerely

Katie Cooley

Chief Operations Officer
