Update on visitor access (Freemasons)
8 April, 2022

 Dear Residents, Families and Advocates

Update on Visitor access – Freemasons Home

I write further to my letter earlier today in which we provided an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at Freemasons Home.

As advised, we continue to welcome nominated visitors however, given the increasing cases within the home and in the wider Tasmanian community, from tomorrow, Saturday 9 April 2022, we will be implementing a visitor booking system and capping our daily number of visitors at 30.

Bookings are able to be made now for visits from tomorrow up to and including Wednesday 13 April 2022. Visiting hours will remain as 10am to 6pm. To book your visit please email Please note the booking system is not required for visitors of residents who are receiving end of life care.

We are particularly mindful that next week is the Easter break, in order to enable as many families to visit their loved ones as possible, we will be opening bookings on Wednesday 13 April, initially limited to one visit over the four day Easter break to ensure everyone has had the opportunity to book a visit.

We understand that this may be disappointing to some of you, however we are working to ensure we can maintain visitor access but do so in a way that is sustainable and ensures the ongoing safety of our residents. We also ask for your ongoing support and consideration of our staff who continue to do an amazing job in incredibly difficult circumstance.

Yours sincerely

Katie Cooley
