An exciting opportunity has arisen at Masonic Care Tasmania to join our forward thinking organisation in a rapidly growing industry. Our Community Services Division currently has casual Community Support Worker positions available working for clients in a variety of environments, such as client’s homes and in the wider community.

We are seeking staff particularly in the Hobart and surrounding areas.

As a Community Support Worker you will assist clients by attending to their personal care and social needs, ensuring they maintain a comfortable and homelike environment in which to live with privacy and dignity.

Essential : Certificate 3 in Aged Care  or equivalent , Current First Aid Certificate, Current Satisfactory National Police Check Current Driver’s License, evidence of your 2020 influenza vaccination and reliable vehicle.

Desirable: Previous experience within the Aged Care Sector and available for flexible work hours and possible weekends.

Summary of the Role

  • Provides cleaning services according to established cleaning schedules
  • Mopping and vacuuming floors, dusting, waste management, restocking of supplies.
  • Assisting with laundry practices as required
  • Maintains records of completion of cleaning schedule duties
  • Safe storage and use of cleaning agents in accordance with Safety Data sheets including correct cleaning agents used in correct quantities for each task.
  • Participates in the infection control program
  • Contributes to a safe environment when undertaking duties ensuring equipment is not obscuring exits and passageways
  • Work in accordance with duties lists and work schedules.
  • Uses methods which maintains and enhances the resident’s dignity and privacy.
  • Adopts a system which minimises intrusion

  • Delivers medication according to Masonic Care Tasmania policies and AHPRA Guidelines.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, energetic and fun Leisure and Lifestyle Supervisor to join our dynamic workforce.

Summary

As a Leisure and Lifestyle Supervisor, you will work in conjunction with Physio Assistants and Leisure and Life style L&L staff. You will be responsible for planning and overall implementation and evaluation of social and activity programs aimed at improving the resident’s quality of life through preserving their social skills and optimum level of physical activity. This role will be based in Launceston, but may require state wide travel.

About you

You will be able to demonstrates a high level of knowledge and co-ordination experience in the L&L area. You will develop and manage a range of programs designed to promote resident independence and maintain / extend their personal interests, social contacts and general mobility. Your sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Awards and in particular current Aged Care legislation with support in your effectiveness as a supervisor and team member at MCT. This will be in addition to your knowledge of Quality Improvement and Work Health and Safety requirements. You will have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to display empathy and advocacy as appropriate. You will have sound knowledge of wellness deficits which impede resident capacity to function independently, and an ability to design and implement programs which promote wellness.

Essential:

  • Completed or working towards a Leisure and Lifestyle Certificate 4 or equivalent together with demonstrated experience, particularly in the co-ordination role
  • Satisfactory Police Check no older than 3 months, evidence of a 2020 influenza vaccination and be willing to attend a workplace health assessment.

Desirable:

  • Current driving license – willingness and ability to gain a public vehicle driving license.
