This is an exciting opportunity to join the MCT family in the accounts team as an Accounts Officer

The primary task of this position within the Corporate Services Team is:

To provide support to the Home Care and Allied Health teams in the efficient delivery of accounts support, financial analysis and reporting in accordance with legislative, contractual and funding requirements in a way that is responsive to the needs of clients while delivering exceptional customer service to internal customers.

What you will bring to the role?

Essential:

  • Extensive Book keeping skills
  • Extensive accounts experience including completing financial documents and detailed analysis of documents.
  • The ability to interpret financial data and communicate it to non-financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues for community Aged care clients
  • A collaborative, flexible approach to problem solving
  • Proven customer service skills for both internal and external customers
  • Advance computer and IT skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel
  • Current drivers licence
  • Experience working in an environment where confidential information is the norm at all times.

DESIRABLE:

  • Tertiary or higher level qualifications in Accounting or related
  • Have some level of  experience in  aged care accounting
  • Knowledge of Aged Care legislation and regulations
  • Competent in monthly financial reporting, including relevant bench marking and dashboards for different business segments
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate experience in a similar role
  • Experience with computerised financial systems

Summary:

The Community Service Coordinator role is a hands-on role responsible for the provision of quality services and the operational functions of MCTs Home Care Services, Retirement Village Communities and CHSP Day Therapy Centres. You will be responsible for leading our Community Services team to deliver client focused care and support services, build relationships with families and staff alike, be amazing at being organised, an administrative dynamo and have a passion for the community service space.

About You:

As a Community Service Coordinator, you will be passionate about delivering high quality services to our clients and community. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be motivated to deliver the best care in everything you do. You will provide a high level of customer service in a manner that is timely, cost-effective, and efficient and meets the needs of the community. Previous skills and experience in a coordinator or supervisor role. The role will also require travel within Tasmania so a drivers licence and ability to travel is a must have.

NOTE: MCT employees are required to undergo criminal history screening check and health assessment, and provide proof of an influenza vaccination for 2020 prior to employment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for the provision of quality Home Care services to customers through assessment, case-management and coordination.

Location:

This position is based in Hobart.

Reporting to:

Head of Community Aged Care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support and direct care around the Customer Directed Care principles;
  • Organise yourself and the team to deliver timely care within the community and think on your feet for best solution problem solving;
  • Build rapport with customers families, advocates and external agencies to ensure optimum customised service delivery;
  • Assist customers to navigate the aged care system to ensure they receive the best range of care;
  • Understanding of and commitment to quality customer services and the promotion of wellness and independence for the client;
  • Monitor service delivery and the quality of it;
  • Contribute to the growth of Masonic Care Tasmania’s Community Services.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment;
  • Providing the Head of Community Aged care with timely and important information;
  • Act as a role model and work positively with the team to ensure a cooperative approach to service delivery and work practices.Regular legislative and regulatory reporting as required;

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Relevant experience in Community Care or the Aged Care sector
  • Minimum cert 4 in aged care or Home & Community Aged Care.
  • Experience leading and supporting services, teams or as a coordinator.
  • Knowledge of aged care legislation and funding.
  • Excellent knowledge of Customer Directed Care principles.
  • Be self directed to manage time frames and expectations.
  • Have highly developed interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills along with the ability to manage a diverse range of staff, contractors, clients and stakeholders.
  • Administrative skills in key technologies and systems
  • Be creative in problem-solving skills, for developing solutions and for making sound recommendations based on commercial and risk based decision making.
  • Hold a current drivers license.

  • Mopping and vacuuming floors, dusting, waste management, restocking of supplies.

We are currently looking for a qualified Head Chef with a minimum of 5 years kitchen experience, who is able to work unsupervised, to join our Hospitality Services Division at MCT’s Launceston facility, in the 2 homes in Newstead and Norwood.

This position is for a full-time permanent position. To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in the catering industry, good verbal and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills. You will have experience in bulk cooking of mains, desserts, morning and afternoon tea. Experience in an aged care setting would be viewed favourably, however it is not an essential requirement.

You must possess knowledge of current food legislation, HACCAP, a satisfactory police check no older than 3 months and be willing to undergo a workplace health assessment.

Please note that this position will allow you family friendly regular core hours of work between the hours of 6.00am to 6.00pm, including weekend work and no split shifts.
