Leisure & Lifestyle Supervisor
Leisure and Lifestyle Supervisor – Launceston  Masonic Care Tasmania Inc. (MCT) is a state-wide, not for profit organisation which delivers high quality, customised services to meet the current and future needs of older Tasmanians, their carers and families for over 60 years. More than 1000 people choose to live life with us through residential care, respite care, community support services and retirement living. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, energetic and fun Leisure and Lifestyle Supervisor to join our dynamic workforce. Summary As a Leisure and Lifestyle Supervisor, you will work in conjunction with Physio Assistants and Leisure and Life style L&L staff. You will be responsible for planning and overall implementation and evaluation of social and activity programs aimed at improving the resident’s quality of life through preserving their social skills and optimum level of physical activity. This role will be based in Launceston, but may require state wide travel. About you You will be able to demonstrates a high level of knowledge and co-ordination experience in the L&L area. You will develop and manage a range of programs designed to promote resident independence and maintain / extend their personal interests, social contacts and general mobility. Your sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Awards and in particular current Aged Care legislation with support in your effectiveness as a supervisor and team member at MCT. This will be in addition to your knowledge of Quality Improvement and Work Health and Safety requirements. You will have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to display empathy and advocacy as appropriate. You will have sound knowledge of wellness deficits which impede resident capacity to function independently, and an ability to design and implement programs which promote wellness. Essential:
  • Completed or working towards a Leisure and Lifestyle Certificate 4 or equivalent together with demonstrated experience, particularly in the co-ordination role
  • Satisfactory Police Check no older than 3 months, evidence of a 2020 influenza vaccination and be willing to attend a workplace health assessment.
  • Current driving license – willingness and ability to gain a public vehicle driving license.
