COVID-19 News

An update for our valued community
22 May, 2020

Dear valued Residents, Families and Advocates,

I want to thank you again for your patience and understanding during this time.

We continue to be directed by the Tasmanian Government regarding visitors to aged care facilities in Tasmania. The Public Health Direction (Residential Aged Care Facilities – No. 5) remains in place until we are advised otherwise by the Tasmanian Government. Please be assured that we will move as quickly as possible to implement changes to visiting arrangements should this direction change.

We are continuing to review the current preventative measures in place and have also undertaken a Resident Survey to obtain their valuable feedback regarding visitors during this time. Once we have these results, this feedback, alongside any new directives from the Government, will guide us in determining how visits can best be accommodated moving forward. Part of our forward planning involves looking at ways in which we can support the transition to longer visits and to supporting visits in resident’s individual rooms. We will continue to keep you informed as things progress.

Please be assured that we are here to support you and your loved ones. If you have any questions or concerns about your own visiting arrangements, please contact your Facility Manager directly, as we will always consider personal circumstances and accommodate individual needs where possible.

I sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these changes together to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, clients and staff continues to be our priority.

Yours sincerely,

Jackie Howard
Chief Executive Officer
