Letter to MCT Contractors: COVID-19 Infection Prevention and entry to MCT sites
24 May, 2021

Dear Valued Contractors,

Following recent confirmation from the government, under new Tasmanian health department guidelines, contractors are no longer required to provide proof they have been vaccinated against influenza, however we do encourage you to continue providing us with evidence of any staff that have been vaccinated against the flu as the current direction is likely to change with other States continuing to mandate that all staff, visitors and contracts have the flu vaccination.

Further to this and to confirm for you, the following infection prevention controls are still being maintained.

Sign-In Procedures and Declarations
All visitors including Contractors will be required to sign in and out of our facility’s Contractor Register upon arrival and exit of the premises.

We require all contractors to make a declaration prior to coming to site (i.e. “We declare that we have a process in place to respond to employees who have been exposed to COVID-19”).

Site Entry Requirements
Contractors should not attend any Masonic Care Tasmania site in the following circumstances:

  • You have returned from interstate or overseas in the last 14 days
  • You have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • You have a fever or other flu-like symptoms or acute respiratory infection (note – all visitors will need to undergo a temperate check prior to entry)

If you have any concerns or questions in regards to COVID-19 and your work with Masonic Care Tasmania, please contact Shane Ward, Corporate Services Manager shane.ward@mctas.org.au

Kind regards,

Khan Richardson
