Letter to Residents, Families & Advocates - December 2021 Safety Precautions
22 December, 2021

Dear Valued Residents, Families and Advocates,

COVID-19 safety precautions

As you may be aware, the recently eased travel restrictions have resulted in positive cases of COVID-19 in Tasmania in the last week. A number of locations have been, and will continue to be, declared exposure sites by Public Health. Public Health notifications will be sent to anyone who has visited these locations during an exposure period.

For the safety of residents, we request that all visitors adhere to the following requirements.

• Any visitors that have travelled from a location declared as High or Medium risk are requested to wait at least 48 hours after entering Tasmania before visiting the facility.

• Any visitor who has been declared a Close Contact must not enter the facility until a negative test result has been received following a test on day 12 or 13 per Public Health requirements.

• A visitor that has been declared a Casual Contact may still enter the facility, adhering to Public Health direction requirements and is asked to maintain thorough hand hygiene practices and adhere to the 1.5m social distancing measures.

Further information on the requirements for each type of contact can be found on the Tasmania Government website.

A reminder that all visitors must adhere to the current Public Health direction and provide evidence of vaccination status or a negative test result in the 72 hours prior. Masks must be worn at all times in the facility and must be an approved surgical mask designed for single use. Visitors will need to supply their own mask, which should be placed on before entering the facility and disposed of upon exit.

Any residents who are notified as being a casual contact will be required to wear a mask and physically distance from others where possible.

Our residents, clients and workforce safety and wellbeing is our highest priority at this time. I thank you for your understanding and support of these additional measures. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact the facility managers directly who will be able to assist.

Yours sincerely,
Jackie Howard
Chief Executive Officer
