Letter to Residents, Families & Advocates - Extended Aged Care restrictions for Southern Tasmania
18 October, 2021

Dear valued Residents, Families and Advocates,

RE: Extended Aged Care restrictions for Southern Tasmania

I want to thank you once again for your patience and understanding as we continue to work together to protect our community from COVID-19.

This morning the Tasmanian Government announced an extension of the current restrictions in place for Aged Care Facilities in Southern Tasmania. In response to this, the following restrictions will remain in place for our Freemasons Home in Lindisfarne until 6:00pm Friday 22 October 2021.

Facemasks
Anyone who enters a residential aged care facility – including staff – must wear a facemask at all times when on the premises.

This requirement does not apply to residents in the aged care facility.

Visitor arrangements
Unfortunately there will be no visits permitted to aged care facilities in Southern Tasmania until 6:00pm Friday 22 October 2021.

During this time, keeping Residents and their families connected is very important. Please contact the Freemasons team directly on 6282 5200 during business hours to organise a time to video call.

Protecting our Residents and our workforce
I would like to take this opportunity to confirm for you that all MCT workers are sufficiently vaccinated as per the Tasmanian Public Health Direction Under Section 16 – Mandatory Vaccination Certain Workers.

We had an overwhelming positive result from the MCT team in response to this requirement, and I commend all of the MCT team members for their commitment to the safety of our Residents and Clients, and one another.

Please be assured that we are here to support you and your loved ones. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the team at Freemasons directly.

Yours sincerely,

Jackie Howard
Chief Executive Officer
